At First United

You will find a caring and diverse collection of people who come to First for a variety of reasons and have  varied religious backgrounds.

We are a mix of all ages and we celebrate the presence of children and youth.

We provide an atmosphere that encourages asking questions, that supports healing, and welcomes all into community.

We believe in kindness, loving our neighbours, and accepting people wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

We strive for ecological justice and caring for the Earth.

We are engaged in reconciliation between the First Nations, Inuit, & Métis peoples and non-Indigeous Canadians.

We  celebrate the racial and ethnic diversity present in our community and are engaged in addressing systemic racism within and beyond our church as we listen to the calls for action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Black Lives Matter.

We celebrate the presence of all sexual orientations and gender identities and are engaged in promoting the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community within and beyond our church.

We support reproductive rights and are engaged in a commitment to end gender-based violence.

We talk openly about mental health.

We engage in welcoming refugees to Canada.
